Lifelong Learning of Estes Valley Preschool (LLEV) provides a safe environment where children grow socially, intellectually, physically and spiritually. Our mission is to enhance the love of learning by stimulating curiosity and providing the necessary skills to make learning a lifelong pursuit.
The programs provide community outreach offering an interdenominational Christian-based program for all families. This outreach includes our Tuition Assistance Program to enable families of all income levels to participate in the preschool.
LLEV Preschool incorporates the Reggio Emilia philosophy of education. In its most basic form, it is a way of observing what children know, are curious about and what challenges them. Teachers record these observations to reflect on developmentally appropriate ways to help children expand their academic and social potentials. Classroom activities connect core academic areas in and out of the classroom.
Additionally, we integrate the "STEM" approach where appropriate. STEM is an acronym for science, technology, engineering, and math. STEM Education, a term initiated by the National Science Foundation, refers to an educational approach which integrates more than one of these disciplines. Science, technology, engineering, and math may seem like lofty subject matter for preschool children. In reality, preschoolers spontaneously engage in STEM activities indoors and out on a regular basis. With a little guidance from us, we can enhance children's opportunities to engage in STEM learning and develop their critical thinking skills.
Instructional activities are presented during playtime and during small group instruction with a game format based on the interests of the children.
The outdoor area provides an environment for observing and learning about plants and animals. We take advantage of Rocky Mountain National Park nearby and all of our local natural resources for outdoor education, field trips and learning about science and nature.
Quality, award-winning literature, poems, finger-plays, and songs enrich the curriculum. Art and music are integrated in and provide opportunities for creativity and self-expression.
The curriculum reinforces our values of being kind, being safe, and living by the "Golden Rule". We celebrate Christmas and Easter in song, art and crafts projects, and in our annual Christmas Program.
LLEV offers a multi-cultural curriculum that provides children with opportunities to learn about other cultures and customs. In past school years we have had children in our programs from China, Russia, Japan, Nepal, Mexico, and other cultural backgrounds and we always invite the families to come to school and share their customs , foods, and language. Each year we work on Spanish words, Spanish colors, and counting in Spanish.
We strongly encourage family participation in your child's education! We invite families to join us for many fun events throughout the year including:
We are a "Learning Community" where children, families and staff learn from each other.
